Lowest result on average
What was your lowest yield (relation sunk ships to total tonnage) on a patrol?
I just finished a patrol on a VIIB in 10/39 and sunk a total of 9 ships but for a meager 25540 tons, a miserable average of 2838 ts per ship. Those consisted of 6 tramp steamers, 1 small merchant and 2 medium cargos. I always sink anything with an enemy flag so that maybe explains the large number of small ships. |
I've archived my first 19 patrols with GW 1.1a. Discounting the few 0 ton patrols (usually caused by equipment failure detected on the way out to sea) I have a 1100 and a few 4000 patrols in there.

wow!! 19 missions:o ? ... but wait, is that with one career, or many? :hmm: |
Yup, that's my first GW captain and I decided to run him till he dies. :) On mission #17 he came close!
19 missions, 43 ships sunk for 215,897 tons. That's an average of 14 days per patrol and 5020 tons per ship. And one plane! :) |

Worst patrol I ever had. Heading out and passed too close to Scarpa. Single aircraft spotted so I decided to let the flak gunners get a kill. He dropped right on the tower. Lost 3 gunners and my WO. Limped back to port with 4 dead, no scopes, couldn’t go up on the bridge. I thought about restarting the patrol, but decided not to and punish myself for not doing the smart thing by just diving away. |
Ah, just like the time I got a prime hunting ground assigned to me in 1940 in grid AM...something or other...right there outside of the Bristol Channel. Of course I have to be a big tough Kaleun and use the English Channel to get there. Some of you already know whats going to happen here...
BOOM....Sunk by a mine, all hands lost. 0 torpedoes fired, 0 tons sunk. Career: 1 patrol, 0 tons. :) |
