AA Gun for GW SUCKS!
 

Hey yall, just tested out on GW for the Anti-Aircraft gun and it sucks. Is there a Patch for this?? I have the TGW11 version.

GW and Sucks in the same sentence?! :doh:

I mean, 60 rounds in one swordfish ought to be enough. Specially shooting rounds the size of my fist!!

the AA guns dont have the laser accuracy, some or most shots miss now, and the 20mm wasnt that tough anyway, for shootting down airplanes that is

Most people will quote the only 125 aircraft were shot down by U-boats statistic to explain why the supermod AA guns are mostly useless. :)

There are tweaks here or there which reenbable the power of the AA gun though, search this forum for examples.

:shifty: The AA gives u an Chance to shoot down planes...it doesnt give you the security to stay surface when planes are nearby.

AA are the last option to do when having trouble with planes. the best way is ALAAAAAARM!!!!

I recommend that you use stock SH3.

AA guns did suck. Well, more specifically, U-boats sucked as AA gun platforms.

If you were to think about the hundreds of hours that went into the building the supermods, the fact that people did it for free and gave it to you for free, to come in and say "it sucks" is quite rude, you think?

You do have the choice of not using the mod. Or, you could go PURCHASE an expansion pack. I hear there's one available and may even contain some of the features you see here. <additional comment self censored>

The stock game is quite arcade. It's easy mode already. The modders went to a lot of trouble, time and effort to do research on how things worked historically. I think all of the supermods did an outstanding job of adding to the immersion, adding tweaks and tools to make the experience more enjoyable, adding realism including expectations of weapons performance. And they had to do this within the confines of the SHIII engine.

I for one am quite appreciative of everything they, as well as other modders and tool authors, have done to add to the game and the community. I wouldn't dare to say anything "sucks". If it's not my cup of tea, I just don't use it.




My teenage daughter is watching me reply to this, she asked me add this "It's called skill baby, get some". (She plays NYGM on full realism.) She also suggested that "Quake and Counterstrike have weapons you may like."

When I was playing Quake I went to a LANParty where someone brought his 9year old son. Oh my god was that brat a trash talker! He kicked my ass then stood up on his tiny little chair and yelled "Is there anyone where who has some skillz, coz this loser is boring!" :) Ahh, kids can be so cute.

(I got my younger brother to put the smack down on him as revenge. :smug:)
