GW - Game reboots the system
Hi
Just installed GW 1.1 over the clean 1.4b game. During my first training mission, after about 5 minutes my computer was restarted. My configuration: P4 2.0 Ghz, 765MB RAM, Radeon 9600 SE 128 MB RAM. Does it mean my hardware is to weak for GW? I don't know what to do... Thanks for help |

Did you use the 1.1A self installer ? If so maybe try reinstalling over the top making sure NOT to tick the enhanced seafloor |
Thanks for your reply. I downloaded all GW parts and then small .exe file which installed GW 1.1 without any problems. BTW superb work releasing this super mod.
I didn't installed floor, I knew I would slow down the game. If you have any other suggestions, please, tell me. GW is the only chance to make this game playable. Stock version is full of bugs. Thanks |

Failing that can you post the sizes of the 4 bin files so can check not corrupted |
I'll try to download it from other source, but I'm afraid it's caused by my lack of RAM in computer. It would be great if someone, who has also < 1GB wrote to me and tell whether has the same problem.
Thanks |

You can use a program called EnditAll to turn off unnecessary files. Use the search to find the program. |
Thanks for reply, I'll try:)

You should be able to run the game with your setup; however RAM is now fairly cheap. The game will run much better with 1 gb of RAM If you do the above (and you should) you still will probably have a frame rate problem. The greatest frame rate hogs are particles (set lower) harbor traffic, and sea floor.
I use flightsimulator autostart (FSautostart) to clear my RAM, as I couldn't get EnditAll to work. |
I also have this problem. When playing SH3 with the GW mod the game reboots. It happens when I press one of the F-buttons to go to a station.
Sometimes I can play 1 or 2 missions without any problems but most of the time I have 1 reboot per mission so I have to save often. Is this being caused by the mod? I've run several tests (memory and HD) on my pc and they are all positive. More people have this? Perhaps a new install of my OS is needed. |
