Sinking ships in shallow waters bug

I noticed that when ships are sunk in shallow waters and do not completely submerge they do not disappear (as ships that completely submerge do) and start floating around the area indefinitely. Is this a stock bug? Is there any way to rectify it other than to not sink ships in shallow waters.

Thanks

IMO I prefer to see the wreck in shallow water...if not just to remind me how well my crew are performing :arrgh!:

I have found that if you load a save around a ship sunk in shallow water that it will start floating around as if it had an engine again. Kind of funny to see the rear half of a ship sailing around the harbor.

That's exactly what I'm experiencing.
