''U'' numbers
Hi all,
A question you may answer just for fun: What is your ''U'' number? I've got U-47 (as you may have noticed from my sig just below). What's yours? |
My Type IXC, U-527, is going great for me ATM; still won't trade her in for one of those new-fangled IXD2's, regardless of any better capabilities:yep: After 17 patrols with her, I've gotten a bit attached. Sure, I was in U-553 (VIIC) for 22, but since I got U-527, I've been regularly sinking 5-7 ships per patrol:arrgh!:

In the game I used to play U-46(Type VII) but in WAW2 I'm U-140 which is a IID.
The only picture of U-140 that I found is in my signature-the second one, Quote:

hi,
@popol0011 - you have a famous u-boat, U-47 - commanded by Gunter Prien, it sneaked into Scapa Flow and sunk a Battleship, see http://www.uboat.net/boats/u47.htm and http://www.uboat.net/articles/index.html?article=34 Mine, out of interest, is a type II : U-63, and in reality didn't achieve a great deal - being sunk near the Shetlands by a combined RN destroyer and submarine attack Kaleun |
How I got my number was adding the letters in my first, second and third name, and I came up with..... U -657:ahoy:. I 've researched this boat on u-boat net and every other site but there is limited information on this boat.

Here's mind. :D

I'm using U-93. I used renown to get my VIIC early, so I picked one of the earliest type VIIC's to go into service.

For my U - number I used some numbers from the ancient Chinese custom of I Ching, where the numbers I chose represent a specific outcome or anwser, kind of like a horoscope. The ones I chose were 29 - The Deep and 7 - The Army, hence U-297. I don't recall the specific meanings of each, but I'm sure I could find it if I Googled I Ching.

My U-Boot, the Proud U-77 command by Kapitänleutnant Rudi Thieme (Me eheh). Sorry but no sig whiet.
