question about GW
 

i play SH3 my first month and i use GW mod and there are very much modfs.

my guestion is that: i got 512 ram and i thought cause of so much modifs will i lagg
a bit more?

The harbor traffic mod in GW may slow down your computer while you are in port. Also, make sure you DONT have the sea floor textures installed which is an optional mod with GW.

Other than that, you shouldnt have to much trouble.

You should get more RAM; windows xp uses most of your 512. In the mean time, search the SHIII forum for tips on getting more frames/sec with what you have. The three biggest frame killers are: 1) Sea floor (you MUST use the orginal SHIII sea floor), 2) harbor traffic (but only in harbor; once you are out of the harbor it will have no effect on your game play or frame rate) 3) 16 KM atmospheric mod (you must use the 8 KM atmospheric mod.)

You CAN use the 16km Mod without problems, I have 512mb my self and there is no difference to the 8km Mod.

You should give it a try, its much more realistic... :up:

I have 2GB of RAM with GW and *everything* turned on (which I should probably reinstall and be more selective). Frame rates aren't too bad, even with a flaming sinking ship and the seefloor visiable I was at 20FPS. Harbour is fine for me as well.

Now, loading times is something different all together. It takes about 1 minute to load the game itself, and a mission takes nearly 2-3 minutes to load sometimes. But once in it's cheerleader thigh smooth. :)
