A question for Skybird & Gizzmoe
I heard this on the radio, according to the radio you don't.
Is it true German people never queue up in shops? :hmm: |
Of course we do, do you think we are savages?

If it was true, wow what service in and out. Cheers. :D  A good lesson do not believe all you hear on the radio. :yep: |
Wait, I somehow get the feeling that I misunderstood your question. What exactly did they mean with "queuing up in shops"? Give an example...
|
It was not a real clear statement by the person on the radio, I think they were suggesting you get very fast service at the check out without standing around like us Brits.
|
Oh, I see. Well, that of course depends on when and where you go shopping. On a Saturday morning I often need to wait 10 minutes when I go to my butcher, Wednesday at 10 less than a minute or not at all. If you go shopping when everyone else does then there are longer waiting times, that´s normal...
|
queuing up in shops = "in der Schlange stehen"? Well, that certainly depends on the situation, time, and so on.
|
Cheers Guys. :D
Blasted radio. :yep: |

I guess you can call us savages when we try to get into a train, or at least some of us. I wait till its my time, but I very rarely travel with a train. |

I find its most effective if you give the first impression on the nose or in the stomach. Its all about the impact you make with other people. |
Out of curiousity, in Germany, do you still have your beer mat marked for each steiner you drink then pay at the end ? I experienced this when I was over there many years ago.
