I have used both ccleaner and regcleaner. I can say they both work very well. So you may want to try them both. Should mention that I prefer ccleaner as you can do more with it.

Do you get updates and upgrades with ccleaner?

Only asking as I thought of ccleaner too. I went with ErrorKiller for the update and upgrade reasons. It is payware but only a oneshot payment and you get updates and upgrades for free as long as you use it. I went for 2 computers and saved a bit more, as I'll use it in my backup pc too. It also fixes registry problem beside a whole list of other things.
