clock and engines during hydrophone in GW

When listening to the hyrophone in GW I can still hear the clock ticking and electric engines. Though not anywhere near loud, they can compete with the very faint screw sounds. Can they be turned off durng hydro sweeps? Thx.

Just turn out the engines, you should be able to hear well enough. Thatīs what I do.

The clock ticking is irritating though, which is why i deleted that sound file.

Ticking clock deletion

Great suggestion about getting rid of that awful ticking sound.

Went to the sound folder in SH3 and changed the file name from Clock to Clock_Original just in case I want to bring it back at a later date.

Ya personaly though i would have prefered to leave it, but it just drove me batty in hydrophone station when i was trying to listen for contacts and all i heard was tick tick tick tick tick

I believe someone made a mod that turned the volume down on the clock so it wasn't so annoying.

Sure, but wouldn't the headphones mostly cancel out the engine noise (that's much quieter in GW)?

They would but, not the prop cavatation noise. Shut off the engines, props stop, no noise.
