GW and Frontflotille 2.0 don't get on with each other.
Hi, I have a (non-internet) gaming Computer upstairs and I managed to patch SHIII and install Grey Wolves from a CD; all went smoothly until I added Frontflotille 2.0 then the game crashed that badly that I ended up uninstalling everything and have re-installed SHIII, patch and GW. I seem to remember reading somewhere in this Forum that you could 'dual-install' so you could have the 2 independent from each other i.e. start a Career with GW and also another with Frontflotille ?! If this is true, could somebody provide me with the 'recipe' on how to do this ?

Here is the link on how to do a second install of SH3 on your computer.

Hi, thanks for the link, I tried that but to no avail.. when I did the second installation with a patch then Frontflotille, the game runs smoothly but it shows 1.3 and not 1.4 ?! I could live with that so created a Career and started to see that it would run for a bit then saved the patrol and exited. When I started up the Grey Wolves version, it showed the Career and relevant statistics from the Frontflotille version even though they are in seperate folders..weird or wot ?! so I tried to resume the Career (in GW mode) got the status bar then the 'SHII has encountered a problem' etc. etc. I could try installing SH Commander 2.6 from a Disc to see if it would 'manage' the 2 but that might complicate matters. Anyone have any ideas ?

So you have to remember which career goes with which game You can use SH3commander for multiple installs - instructions are in the readme Here it is - post 148 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...t=95448&page=8 Oh and yes the patch does show 1.3 - dont now why but it does |
Thanks for that bigboywooly especially the 1.3 bit as that was really driving me up the wall :damn: I'm going to try and install SHIII Commander 2.6 and see if that will solve the problem even if it means starting a Career from scratch (I'd just started viewing Leprechauns thru my scope) so no big loss there !
