Question about hospital ship
 

Hi all! I need some help understanding how to add the hospital ship (specifically the one with lights from Anvart) to the campaign. I have an unmodded campaign (no GW , etc.). I would like it to spawn randomly as a single ship, but not appear in convoys. I looked through all the hospital ship threads, but they have me kinda confused. Can anyone give me some basic instructions on what to edit (I assume in the .RND layer) and how? I would appreciate it! Good hunting!

If you got GW they are already in there.

There arent any Hospital ships in the stock game

To add some you will have to search your .scr for an entry like this

And change to

There are 5 Type=103 entries in the stock .scr - some of which are liners and the others troopships so only change 1 or 2

The .rnd is a little different as thats where the covoys are spawned from
There are some entrys for single ships such as this one

As you can see there is no Class= line on that one so it will pick any type=103 ship in the British roster--Liner\troopship and your hospital ship if you have put it in there
You can add the line if you like so the Hospital ship will appear for that entry

As with anything make sure you are back in port before trying this and back up your original in case of problems

You can add the ships thru mission editor but thats another story
