aircraft spawn with GW
 

so im playing with gw and i have the problem of no aircraft spawning. I just retruend from a 2 month long patrol feb 12th-april 10th 1943 and didnt see a single aircraft while being close to england. now ive read about time compression screwing airbases up, so i never went over 256 during the day and 512 at night but that didnt help either. now is there any thing i could do to fix this, or should i move over to nygm if i want aircraft attacks? and if i do move to nygm, what are main things im losing by not using gw?

Try lowering T\C to 128
If thats the only thing about GW bugging you try replacing the Airsrike.cfg with the original

you guys have a copy of the original or the nygm aircraft.cfg?

thanks wooly, but theres more of a probability with the gw version..hmmm.....im not sure what i should do here. my next patrol is may 1943:huh: i want it to be challenging, and ive yet to see any planes in 1943!

Don't worry... you will be attacked by more aircraft in GWX. That being said, I've been attacked by many AC in GW.

Use the file Bigboywooly uploaded for you and it will more than cure your problem. In all likliehood... you will be attacked too often.:up: :up: :up:

Yes , I have no problem being attacked either in GW
Though I dont normally go anything over 128 T\C unless out in the middle of the atlantic
In later years I keep it low there too as its escort carrier time then :up:

Back up your copy of airstrike.cfg and if the orig one doesnt cure the problem you can always revert back

I have no problems with aircraft in GW.,am in Bergan at the moment,Nov 44 and they are more of a hinderance than anythingelse I normally shoot out off the pens at full speed the B-24s tend to go for the ships docked in the harbour,if am lucky I'll take 1 out the hipper class cruiser 1 or 2 (gave it a crew rateing of 4).

ah, it seems to have worked well, i got jumped by a couple b-24s right when i entered the bay. does this file keep the same difficulty level that gw changed from vanilla planes?

It doesnt touch the aircraft difficulty - well only in as much as it changes the airbases "rating" ie elite
You can compare both cfg side by side and make any changes you see fit
But it doesnt change the aircraft damage model so you are ok on that score

Try to patrol around Valetta (mediterranian sea). I have just returned to La Spezia from a patrol (Using GW, and i`m proud of it..!), and when i came close to Valetta, the sky was suddenly buzzing with aircrafts. Pretty cool sight, if it wasnt for the agressive enemy pilots. When they saw my big, grey steel tube (my submarine), they suddenly became interrested. Too bad for me, had to crash dive to avoid the bombs and the shelling. Dirty allies, they almost ruined my day.

You want planes - easy. Sail through the English Channel in broad day light and shoot at anything that moves, I can safely say you will get planes, an DD's an DE's an ALL matter's of beasty's. ;)
