After All This Time Of Playing....
....I finally ran across a Task Force in the open Ocean that was in range....while I still had torpedoes on board that is. :o
Fact was, I dived and tried to evade....going in the opposite direction. For some reason the Task Force did an unexpected turn and so inadvertently crossed my T at 500 meters and a Revenge Class Battleship was just too much of an opportunity to pass up....especially presented on a platter. As it was it took me a couple of hours to escape the pounding and allow the escorts to clear the area so I could return and finish off the old girl. The first four ells all hit but she as loath to down. http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/9...2146375dc6.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/7...1264343tt8.jpg http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/4...2638296ms8.jpg I recall Captain Henry's words to his son Briny from Herman Wouk's Winds of War: It isn't every day you get to sink a battleship! Amen to that..:yep: |
That's a cool story.
I can't see the pics though.:nope: <edit>...wait...yes I can. They were re "x"s but when I posted I could suddenly see them. |
Wish that would happen to me :arrgh!:

Nice one
Its a pity that in RL they wouldnt have left a battleship dead in the water and sailed off Still that was to your advantage Kudos Rare to come across those beasts in open water |
Wow shes a beauty, the only things close to a battleship i've seen is a Hipper Heavy Cruiser anchored up in Kiel, and she was a beauty... :D
