That's pretty cool. Essentially buying the nuc sub you once were a conscript on. Ain't capitalism great?
PD |
What he get an air filter? because this is whats left of K-19 as of 2005
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...craphangar.jpg And this is K19 being cut up http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...1/CAYJW3DM.jpg So he was either miss sold a submarine or well just has a few parts :D |
Well he has been sold something but I guess it will not be the real one. This:
http://www.nti.org/db/nisprofs/russi...t/gadzhiev.htm states there are six decommisioned submarines there.Where was the real K-19 cut up? |
She would have been scrapped Nerpa Shipyard, Snezhnogorsk << spelling
|
It was scrapped and he is buying the original, or parts of it anyways:

If he has bought a submarine from gadzhiyevo what do you think he has bought then?
|
Probly still got the sail all he has to do is repaint 701 on her n then he has K19 russian boats have a habbit of being re numberd, the white numbers on the hull denote its mission (did do up untill 1991).
he probably has another submarine same class ect just been told that it is K19. |
what is he gonna do with this submarine? sink shipping? :p

I wonder if he will mount it outside his football ground?

I would love to own an old WW2 Uboat put it in my backyard and set it up as my home, i would have the control room as the living room, forward torpedo room as the bathroom. the officers mess cleared out to be the kitchen and the rear compartments as the bedrooms, sonar and radio room will be my computer room for when playing subgames - how realistic will that be! :P. The periscope would still stay but alot of everything else would be renovated. The conning tower hatch would be the way in and out. No windows, the persicope is the window.Yep i have it all visualise in my head. Now hoping one day it will be a reality. ;)
Edit: the boat would either be an VIIC or IX |
Kiwi, there was a type IX at Birkenhead until quite recently as part of the museum,I am not sure what has become of it.
