is there a mod for....

.....showing damage on the ships you attack i,e firing an eel that actually leaves a hole in the intended target instead of just a black mark??

Hollywoods damage/effect mod does a good job at what you are looking for.

Nope Hollywood damage mods just upped the special effects and caused a bit more tension in the sub damage model. It is a pretty old mod that needs updating soon with all these wonderful new finds that keep popping up :know:

You can try 'SH3 MOD Shell Damage Textures' available at the U Boat Realsimulation site. I think it is listed under 'Skins' downloads. It does improve the stock damage seen on target ships.

Mods that make the torps leave a mark i don't think exist...however you can find lots of improved textures which do their job pretty well.Check the mod-list from the workshop sub-forum and you should also find some there. The only actual "holes" that are left in ships when they are hit are when you rip them in half:(

Yep your right Gouldjg, It is not hollywoods but one of the below...not sure which one I have installed though...

1. Better_Damage_TextureV2 by Totenkopf
and
2. SH3_MOD_Shell_Damage put together by Marhkimov

I believe I am using Totenkopfs one....I will have to check, in either case it does a pretty good job for what it is...better than the stock smudge.
