Newbie seeks Help with CD Key (NO, i didnt lose mine...)
Well, I finally bought the game after getting my name PC, and i installed it. Then i patched it. Then I installed Gray Wolves. Al before playing it once
When I tried to run the game. It asked me for the CD Key. My CD key was a white sticker with 6 numbers on it in black type. I typed those in and it gave me an error message... 'the key you entered is either wrong or mistyped' What gives!?:o Anyone ? |

cd key
on my game, the CD key was inside the box the game came in, and was about 20 characters long.

Or DVD-key, depending:p.
Right, DVD/CD-keys are never just six digits. You must be looking at the wrong code. My code, like Henry Wood's, was on the DVD itself. Brilliant as it makes it impossible to lose it without losing the whole disk, but annoying as it was not also printed someplace else. I had to take the disk out of the computer during the install program, type in the code from it, and then re-insert it and continue installing. A bit cumbersome:-?. |
I think I'm screwed; I have a 6 digit code on a sticker inside the box in bold type, then a 10 digit code where the first 6 digits are the same, with four new digits.
I've looked on inside the box, outside the box every page of the manual, on the DVD....NOTHING! Maybe someone has else has experienced this. I've never had something like this happen in 18 years of PC gaming...:stare: any way to access the code thru the DVD? |
tried these codes from the setup info on the DVD:
PackageCode={6AD97FB5-BAB9-49FA-8354-3090F52947C0} ProductCode={9720C029-0C2C-4D1E-9DE0-E89971C4C8C7} still no joy.....arrrgh |
My Install Key Code is on a small white sticker inside my plastic DVD case.
Send a note to Ubisoft Customer Service. |
Hi again,
I'm not sure if this applies to non-UK customers, but there is an article here and it includes a pic of the disc with key code highlighted. Also who to contact if you cannot solve problems using FAQ etc. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...2/m/8631081492 Henry |

success! (off the Ubisoft help website, of course it didnt show up on a thread-search and it only offered the thread when I submitted mine... |
I remember when I got Stars!, from Empire Interactive. Awesome old forgotten 4X sci-fi game (tragic that the sequel was cancelled:cry:). I either didn't receive the 8-digit code with my copy, or I fumbled it. It took an eternity before we eventually got ourselves a computer with an Internet connection and I e-mailed the publishers and received a code. Oh joy!

I go the same problem with the space sim game Battlecruiser by Derek Smart. Your all heard of Derek Smart right the developer who created the first Battelcruiser on his own took him 9 years to finish it. Anyways I remeber Derek Smart not helping me with the key issue - no key came with the game, he didn't believe me at first but few weeks later he emailed me a key and stated that NZ/Aus had a dud package of the game a few hundred went out to stores with no keys. So i got a free one.
The game sucked. :rotfl: |
Strange!
The "Install key Code" is on the DVD, black print on white background here, but I have never been asked to enter it!:D Is it asked for if playing over Net?:-?
|
:hmm: Actually, I can't remember ever needing to enter it either.

Ive installed SH3, three times since ive had it and its always asked me to enter the key before it does the first dvd check. Its not asked for when playing over the net but a working cd key is checked. |
Battlecruiser Millenium Gold Edition was fairly awesome, though. Tough learning curve and a manual that could've been far easier to comprehend (it's as if it was deliberately trying to be complicated in a "fancy" way:-?), but once you were into it, it was awesome.
