U boat speed conversion
Can someone give me a conversion of 1 knot = miles per hour?
|
1 nautical mile is 1.877km also, 1 nautical mile is 6072ft long, statue mile is 5280ft long.
1 knot= 1 nautical mile per hour. |
Yeah,
1 knot = 1.150779 mph. I recomend this program: http://joshmadison.net/software/convert/ it is free and converts any unit to any other unit. If you are trying to compute speeds in SH3, you can measure the distance traveled using whatever method you want, and compute it using ( Distance(m) /Time(s))*1.944. This will give you speed in knots for what ever time interval you chose. The easiest time interval is 3minutes 15 seconds ( 195 seconds), at which time the distance traveled in meters is equal to the speed in knots. ( 800m = 8kts) etc. |
Very good Knotical- thanks for that download - it told me everything I needed to know!

If you need this info to get target speed from distance travelled - or even not. Take a look here: http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/.
Thats the manual that got me most immeresed into SH3. And you will find the excellent nonograph mod there. Then you can convert Distance in km to speed in knots when stopping time. |

I just use my good old pilots E6B circular slide rule. I just need to set the speed and then I can read the conversion off the slide rule.
Takes no time at all - faster than a calculator or any computer. |
