Backup your database folder.

Place the DWedit.exe file into your Database folder.

Double click on it... select open and select the object file.

Then you can use the various dialogue buttons to change the things you want in the database. Make sure you choose "save" before closing the database editor.

Cheers,
David

No one up to this point has written a comprehensive manual for DWedit, because no one really knows what everything does... everyone who has learned the program has done so through trial and error.

I wish I had the time to tell you enough to get you started, but I really don't... just try opening some of the dialogues and changing things you think you can easily test in game.

Also, to what end are you using DWedit? If it is to simply gain knowledge of the underworkings of DW without the mind to change anything, then look through as many of the screens as possible and see how the differences between things that you have noticed in game relate to the differences in the numbers in the database.

If you have the mind to start changing things, then you really just have to pick a place you feel you understand the screens and start changing one small thing and testing it in game. This is how I started about 10 months ago.

If you have an interest in doctrine editing, there is much more documentation available, so PM me with you email if you want and I can send them to you.

Cheers,
David
