anybody still use RuB 1.45?

I have been playing a career with an IXB in spring 1940 with RuB 1.45. Seems to be pretty good. I also have downloaded NYGM RuB campaign mod, NYGM ship damage, Hollywood's advanced RuB version and Real battery life for RuB in addition to SH3 Commander version 2.5 and NYGM crew management mod.

My question is: do I really need NYGM 2.0? Will it be any different than the way I have RuB 1.45 modded up? :hmm:

thanks

YES

Well, in fairness, there's a lot of features that will remain similar, but there are some big, big changes, especially in the sensor and U-boat performance department. The result is a big change in gameplay.
There's some nice bonuses in the mix, meanwhile, some nice additions including the kiel canal, new interface items, good 16k visibility... It's not GW as far as graphical polish goes, but it's definitely a step ahead of RUb. Very recommended. The gameplay mechanics are definitely the most sophisticated I've seen thus far.

I say this as someone who had a lot of input into RUb 1.43+ by the way (NYGM beat me and has now taken out most of the changes I made back then in favour of better models!) :88)

I can't agree that GW is mainly polish changes (polish sounds special for me, Polish:D ). Kiel canal was implemented first in GW, new interface items, 16k visibility (dark or light versions) are available also. But, in fact, NYGM is successor of RUb.

GW is more than polish, of course, and I think the team has some real good tricks up their sleeve - but they're more a successor to IUb, with a bigger feature set (and huge filesize) and the goal to appeal to a wider audience.
NYGM, being smaller and a bit more quickly-updated, is the choice for the 'hardcore', so it's a true follow-up for those who liked the uncompromising RUb realism.

I used to have my own game config until my PC bit the dust last month, loosely based on RUb 1.43 with a lot of NYGM/GW features plugged into it. I have to admit that NYGM 2.0 + my favorite graphics mods/skins is actually a lot better.

I used a moded rub 1.44 yet . (without some hardcore options)
and a selection of old mods like 16km enviroment ,harbour traffic +milkcows
other minors like, bordeninstrumenten, sub skins, dd´s detection 13b stage .enviroment colours, smoke.

i´m very happy with this combination of mods ,but when i finish or become tired of my actual career i will try NYGM 2.0 mod
