NYGM 2.0 Torpedo Reload Times
The manual gives much longer times than I am getting...both external and internal.
In the first patrol in a Type II the crew to my amazement slapped the fish into the tubes in only a few minutes....I failed to note the precise time but it was very short. I did however in my first patrol in a type VIIB note that the internal reloads took an amazing 3 minutes and the external only 20. I am guessing that it is the Longer U-boat Repair Times mod that I am using which changed the reload times. Any suggestions on how to reset the reload times to a more realistic setting as NYGM 2.0 ought to have? If it means giving up the LRT mod ...I'll just have to ignore the shorter times...because I like the crewmen having a chance at repairing the damage rather than flooding out everytime after taking the slightest damage. |

Outside of that the first thing that pops into mind is that you have tweaked the "damage contol room" so it has high efficienty ?? This is actully the 10 person crew slot - and it affects both the damage control and the II bow torpedo room because both have slots for 10 enlisted crew. With the efficiency settings in LRT as it came in either flavor for nygm, this would not have been tha case. with my 10slot interval3 at 1200 which is lower than LRT - I have to have a full, rested, and reasonably qualified crew to get an 11 minute load. |
realistic torpedo loading times unchecked ?....yep....double checked to make sure...:yep:
...and I'm using the latest LRT mod which was the .....Longer U-boat Repair Times (LURT) v1.1 compatible with NYGM Tonnage War mod v2.0 I've done no tweaking myself....the only changes made were via mods: NYGM Tonnage War v2.0 NYGM_TW 2[1].0_U-Boat Visual Sensor NYGM IX Turm Correction LURT 1.1 ....and SH3 Commander.....which as far as I know has nothing that would affect torpedo reloaded times. But something has most definitely affected the reload times....'cause now these super effecient crewmen have the next torpedo halfway loaded by the time the fired one hits. :shifty: :hmm: |
My guess is you are a victim of the compartment efficiency associated with the long repair times mod. The values for the TypeII bow torpedo room which coincidently overlaps with the TypeVII and IX damage control were very carefully selected to get the desired torpedo loading times (with the torpedo loading times adjusted as necessary).
I can't tell you exactly what the problem is if the long repair times are the culprit, but I can suggest looking at the Interval1 value in the basic.cfg. We're wrestling this the balance issues associated with this particular mod now. Unfortunately we haven't yet come to a decent solution that gives extended repair times without breaking some other part of damage control or crew management. This is going to be a very tough one to balance, and the compartment overlaps are a big culprit. |

And I will say this to the NYGM team, and others who are using this mod. LRT v1.1 was extensively tested and works as I planned if it is installed as it should be (without mixing other untested mods with it). It isn't perfect, but will work fairly well if it isn't installed with a bunch of other mods at the same time. In my opinion, it is a good trade-off to have more realistic repair times in place of perfectly balanced crew management. One minute repair times and realistic crew management, or 2, 3, or 20 hour repair times and less realistic crew management. You decide... As a side note... after my experiences with Der Teddy Bear's *******, *******, and ******** attitude, I have to say I have lost all respect for the NYGM team and their mods. The only reason I made the LRT mod compatible with NYGM is because it was requested by some people on this board. **edited for politically correct reasons** :shifty: nvdrifter |

Seminole,
Sh3Cmdr makes a backup of your Basic.cfg (and others files) at the first time you run it. Then all the times you restart the game using SH3Cmdr this backuped Basic.cfg will be used again (with a few modifications). I by myself a lot of times modded my Basic.cfg and forgotten to actualize SH3Cmdr, than SH3 uses the 'old' file not the new one. So check your backuped Basic.cfg on SH3Cmdr folder. This could be the cause.:hmm: Rubini. |

Nvdrifter,
I'm posting again in the LRT mod thread in minutes. See you soon! Rubini. |
It was SH3 Commander after all. I found that loading via SH3 Commader the Realistic Torpedo Reloads was turned off in realism settings.
When I checked yesterday to see if Realistic Torpedo Reloads was turned off....I loaded via the game start icon and it was not. Not that I am blaming SH3 Commander what so ever. I was just sloppy in setting realism levels when I started this career and obviuosly missed the realistic torp reload one. OK...fixed it. Thanks for the tips! |
