Missing Brest on map issue. ....SOS....

Hi,
I was doing a SHIII career mode, and in mid mission I got a message " base changed to Brest"
Well, I can read, but there is no Brest on the map. I tried to start another , and it said go to Brest.
I also tried to request a transfer and it is not an active option.
Any experience with this?
Thanks :D

Actually, Brest missing on the map is a known bug in the stock game.. :shifty: wouldn't be too sure with GW as i've never ever experienced it again after modding the org game with it.

Anyway, head out to Brest anyway and once you're close enough you can end the mission as normal.

As for the transfer, SHIII requires a number of patrols with each flottilla before a transfer is possible/approved so just after receiving your transfer orders you can't go back this way.

BTW.. after starting out of Brest again for your next mission the map problem is no longer an issue

Odd that this got brought up. I noticed that on the start of my current patrol last night` August 1940'. But as time went on, Brest did show up after a few days. I just hope I get credit for any action in transit to my new port of call.

No worries about the credit....

Are you certain of this? When I try to go to Brest before it appears on the map I cannot 'Dock at: Brest'. I can only exit the patrol. Of course for the next patrol I start from Brest, but I cannot get the Dock at: option until the name appears on the map.

The ''Dock at'' option only becomes available once you're within a certain range of your base. (This applies to both the stock game and the version modded with GW as i am running currently)

I believe this was somewhere near 25 to 30 Km, but please correct me if i am wrong on this. In any case, what i am sure about is you have to get pretty close to base. So, make sure you are aware of Brest's true location and head for it.

If you are running a game modded with Rub i'm afraid i can't make any meaningful comments as i have never tried it.

Thanks all - A great group of Captains you are. S~

Sorry, I was inside the breakwater. No Dock at: option until the name appears on the map in my experience.

That's a new SHIII quirk to me :o

Too bad that with the changes in this forum we couldn't have kept all previous threads. There actaully were some on this problem which may have even held an answer for you.
