Germany wins 4-2. Good attack from Germany but let down by loose and shoddy defence. Can't see them going far this World Cup.

Strong attack, weak defense for the Germans. Nevertheless, this combination pushed them to third place in last year's Confed Cup, and it also is attractive football. The team is good for surprises - for the good, or the bad. However, I tend to believbe in that matches, fights, wars, duels, you name it, are won from a strong defense guarding your back. An opponent making advantage of that German weakness could kill them. An opponent failing in that will face a hot match. The young players play refreshingly respectless.

Yea, that is what people keep telling for at least 30 years now :), but I agree, the defense sucked and has to improve. It will be an interesting match against Ecuador which has a strong defense and will try to score by counterattacks.

There were 2 nicely scored goals by the German team in this opening match.

Goals? "Impacts" would be closer to the truth. the fourth one slammed in like a grenade. :yep:

What about the late swing and movement from these footballs being used in this World Cup? Talk about a goalkeepers nightmare! :o
