My So

Time is 0010, 1´st January 1941. We are sitting pretty at 80m with a raging storm upstairs somewhere in the Be sector, having a little new year celebration :D
Anyway, my So asked me how come I can hear ships at our 6 when he can´t, even with the engines shut. I told him to take one more beer and that I´m simply the best :sunny: But still, using the Kdb, is the conningtower getting in the way ? Or is he programmed to not here from 170-190?

One more beer and then every one can take rest. Ah yes, remember to let the politics officer out from no4 tube before you load it boys :D

What are you asking?

The AI Sonar man sucks, man the station yourself for the best results.

I think he needs his ears checked, or maybe he spent too many hours too close to the diesel engines. :D

Ok, I´m at work now, so this is the short version. Fact is your So will lose contact even with a known contact when it enters the 170-190, even with engines shut. But manning the station your self you can here it. The question is if that is by design because thats the way it is, your own ship is in the way so to speek, or is it a miss, he should be able to here 360 with the engines shut ?
