ghost ships...
 
While using GW i've noticed that the boat number u-94 [which is my current VIIC] is out of the ocean reporting to BDU, but its not me! anyone else have this happen to them, and do you know a fix....not a huge problem but a little annoying while playing at 100% realism. i only have to wait a year till the real u-94 gets sunk, but still!

Hi Cobal,

This is because of the radio mod which includes actual wartime radio traffic made by uboats. By coincidence, your number happens to be the same. Check
Silent Hunter 3\data\Campaigns\Campaign\messages_en.txt

You have three options:
1. replace messages_en.txt
2. change yuor uboat number
3. remove all messages send to/from u94 in messages_en.txt

The one thing I remember about ghost ships is to never let them cross your bow. that's what all my superstious seafaring friends said about the Flying Dutchman.

Am on my 6th Career any messages you get Ignore,your the Captain you got your orders before you st sail,do your orders and set sail to the 7 seas,go where you like do whatever you like.

Anyway to shut those messages off? I like reading them, they're interesting. But it stops my TC to 1 each time. And sometimes I'll get like 6 a day. It gets to be a bit much.

I did change it in SH3 Cmdr, but that only effects real messages, and those still stop the TC.

you can edit what the TC stops for and to what speed in the .cfg
