Recognition Manual
 

Ok. I've been playing SH3 for a whole 2 days now. Completed Academy and one patrol. That's just to give you my level of expertise! i.e. NIL. However, I have a query about the recognition manual as available at the attack periscope position. It shows only warships, no commercial ships at all, even though a browse through the SH3 folders on the Hard Disk has plenty of .tga images of them. Am I missing something? Even worse, is my installation missing something? lol

Any help appreciated - keep it simple, I was born not long after WWII :lol:

There should be up and down arrows. The commercial ships are in own 'chapter'. Just press the up arrow one time and that´s the one. :up:

From the default page just click the up button once to see something like "handelschiff"(sp) and open it up, that contains all merchant and passenger vessels

If you have auto recognition on, by clicking the word ship next to the target identification, the manual will open to the correct page of target you have in your sights.

Thanks for that info people. It seems I must have always used the down arrow each time, lol. I'm sure there'll be other questions I'll need to ask as the patrols mount. (Just completed patrol #3) Oh, btw, 3 patrols and all in the same grid location. Are they randomised & I've been "unlucky" or is the sim in a rut? The North Sea has a groove in it from me going the same route every time!
