Fastest Video Memory?
I want to upgrade my shared video memory to the fastest possible.
What is the boards recommendations on best video memory? Currently, my notebook machine is running ATI RADEONĀ® XPRESS 200M IGP - 128MB DDR shared video memory w/ 1.2G 333MHz DDR System. Ive got one memory slot open. SH3 runs competently but struggles with any kind of adverse weather, or too many planes show up, particularly B24s. I want to be able to shake my fist in the Liberator's face, & get away with it. Any help? Manock |
Well, I would never _share_ video memory. Video is special in gaming. Get a notebook (or a desktop perhaps) that has it's own video memory. Generally speaking NEVER SKIMP ON THE VIDEO CARD.
P.S. It's probably not a memory issue - yer video card is probably weak. P.P.S. Wait - both are true - weak card, weak memory arrangement. And you might have a driver problem. DONT SKIMP ON THE PATE! :know: Kb |
Gee Thanks on that Suggestion
Gee thanks on that suggestion. I will immediately trade in my use it for other criteria besides gaming notebook based on your post.
Did you somewhere in there actually answer my question. Shees - you must be that other captain I had to scrape up off the mens room floor. |
Har. Well. My suggestion was that
YOU SHOULDN"T SHARE VIDEO MEMORY. Goddamnit. You might be able to get some dual channel action going to make the whole system better...but..it's a laptop, so it's totally inflexible and designed for other things. On the other hand, my work laptop runs SH3 a bit better than my desktop which (when she was commissioned 2 yrs ago) was dirt cheap. Save yerself about 1500 bucks and buy a decent gaming rig. For christ's sake. And for the sake of that captain in the bathroom...chill. Kb :-j |
