BEST SUPERMOD?
 

Hey guys, i just wanted to know what the best supermod is.

1. IuB mod

2. RuB mod

3. NYGM

4. GW mod

I used RUb (with many other mods) and now play GW.
IUB is simply RUb with addons. NYGM I don't know at all.
I can say that GW is the best for me.

Each one does something different, and each has it's own philosophy. You'll have to decide what you want in the realm of realism. RUB and NYGM aim for ultimate realism, but that's in the eye of the beholder. IUB and GW aim for a balance, but those who use them find them realistic as well.

I use parts of different mods; partly because I have my own philosophy and partly because I'm just perverse. Hopefully people who play them will explain what they like about the ones they use.

This question has been asked on average at least once per day for the last three months. We need a sticky! :rock:

Personally, I like graphic of GW with messages, with sounds, with Bordinstrumente included...

but, Tonnage War Mod and the way NYGM deals with ships sinkings is just GREAT and not to be replaced. It`s just awesome.
And I write it, although slow sinkings and, sometimes, problems with finishing a ship out due to NYGM sinking issue was driving me mad.
Additionally, I can`t say which U Boot damage mod from these BIG mods is the best one. Currently used NYGM made me in few cases uneasy, especially when I discovered that some crew members perish way too easily, with no particular reason in fact.

I am like sailor steve, who i might also suggest, gets a rest from the forums! You dont seem to have a life outside of this forum!

My mod collection is a mixture of minimods and parts of supermods.

"best supermod" is so subjective.

"Which supermod would best suit my gameplay which is for <realism><eye candy><etc>..." would be a more appropriate question to ask.

FWIW I could cut and paste jaxa's response and call it my own.

Might make it simpler for us that are thinking of getting back into this sim.

Unfortunately there is a long ton of mods and in the end it comes down to which ones you personally like. About the only way to find this out is to try them individually and in combo....I don't think anyone can really answer your question about which one(s) is/are the best.

Some mods that were highly touted didn't float my boat and then there are others that some proclaimed as disgusting turned out to be just what I wanted.

That's great! I keep having job problems and can't even afford internet at home. I'm busy on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and the local library closes before I get off work on Fridays. Saturday and Sunday I spend two hours each at the library, on several different forums and doing research for my own ship game. That means about 8 hours total online per week, mayby 3/4 of which is spent at SubSim. Six hours a week might seem like a lot to some, but to me it's maddening. If you're referring to my post count, I've been a regular here for several years now, so they do add up.

There is no best mod. They are all different and offer alternate ways to play the game. I have four seperate installs and I like them all.
