No merchant traffic
 

My last several patrols I have had no merchant traffic. Pretty boring. How can I increase the merchant traffic. Robert.

What mod/mods are you running if any?
Many of the bigger mods like Grey Wolves,RUB,NYGM,IUB etc. lower the numbers of single merchants to more realistic levels.

To get more I think you would need to edit the Campaign.RND file.And I have no clue what to even look for in there or even how to do it.

Since I have not heard from you, I'll post what mods I have running then maybe I'll get a response. Thanks.

I have installed, starting from the beginning: DVD patch v1.4b, JSGME, MVP-1.0, RecManualMod by Augie64, JCW_Intro, Sound Trainer (for single Mission), No_Fatigue, Bow Fix VIIB, Daily Contacts Report 1.01 and Ave.Joes Torpedo+Deckgun speed-of-sound explosions delay 1.2+. That's it. Robert.

Oh, I will not install RUb1.45 because I do not like how it changed things.

As I told you in an earlier post, the Daily Contact Reports is probably an obsolete mod. You might want to try the extenral
application SH3Gen. It updates your navigation map with
possible single merchant, warship and convoy positions. It is
something like an intelligence report.

I could not imagine playing SH3 without it.

What is SH3Gen and where can I get it?

This is where you can get it http://www.global-explorer.de/. There should be information there on what it is and what it does, I have not used it so I can't really tell you anything about it.

That's for SH3 Commander and I am not using that.

It is a separate mod from SH3 Commander. You will need to d/l and install Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 first.

Downloaded and installed. I'll wait until I finish this patrol before I do the GEN thing. Robert. Hope this works.

Okay, Have already installed the Microsoft Framewaork v 2.0, now how do I install the program you suggested, SH3Gen? Robert.

IIRC, at the site of Global Explorer, there is a readme....

[INSTALLATION]
Run the installation routine and follow the instructions.

You need DotNET Framework 1.1 to run this software.
You can download and install DotNET Framework 1.1 from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

If you have DotNET 2.0 installed, Sh3Gen will not work until you install DotNET 1.1.
In case you need both versions of DotNET, they can be installed and run alongside.

Should I uninstall framework 2.0 before I install v 1.1? If I'm able to uninstall v 2 :-? Robert
