I now own the Project 958 Hotel class SSBN submarine model, im extatic i just got to build it, paid only a fiver for it, and got a seawolf SSN model with it (paid extra).

But im over the moon now.

Anyone else bought this model?

When i was a kid i had a collection of the major WW2 Battleships, German Tiger tank, and a few modern aircaft. Never a Uboat or modern submarine, because they were so hard to find back then.
Now they're really hard to find unless i buy online.

You have to be more specific, Kapitan.
Plastic models, I suppose. Which scale? Motorised or not? Check the links on the Subsim.com home page or go to: http://www.ModelWarships.com

Well its a 1/350 plastic air fix modelnot too many parts (as if there are on a sub) so thats about it.

Very off topic, Linton, but what does "Standby Q Routine" mean? Standby for silent running? :-?

Is that the Zvezda Hotel kit?

Where did you get it from?

XabbaRus 04-28-06 06:32 AM

I think you will be hard pressed to find a Yankee or Foxtrot model.

A Delta is a possibility.

I do know that there is a model of a Delta III out there just finding it, and i think your right about the foxtrot and yankee seems that the only ones are not the air fix models.

@ Kapitan:
Make sure you do a nice paint job with some wheathering on the model, because subs, esprecially modern ones, are as a model just boring. A nice paint job can bring the thing alive.

i just did that kit ill post pics later
but as abraham said you REALLY got to do a good paint job to bring out the details i had to modify the whole thing to make it look good.

the Oscar from Zvezda was MUCH better. the best russian made model ive ever seen!

and i have EVERY 1/700 scale russian sub ever made!
ill post them too

i cant wait for the november!
also i dunno if you know but marquet models is gonna release a Akula (971) too at 1/350 scale

too bad theres no Foxtrot :(

But... that trumpeter kit of the romeo will make a good hull for one :hmm:

but the bigest thing i have is a 1/200 scale yamato! That thing about 5 feet long! still in the box.
biggest sub i got is the revell 1/72 scale Type VII/c

Kapitan 04-28-06 12:00 PM

I ahve a 7 feet long 1 foot wide submarine il post pics later but its massive.
