Just a typical night for Minensuchboote 42
Since we're talking about the forgotten coastal combat vessels in WW2 I've thrown together a new (FICTIONAL) scenario to commemorate the no-holds barred convoy actions in the English channel during the middle of the war. It's quite awesome to think that things like this were quite typical for many young (and not so young) men both Allied and Axis, military and civilian.
There are some quirks in the scenario and any feedback would be welcome. You need to download the Betasom DC VOSPER pack, TURNERG's GERMAN MERCHANTS PACK (though with profound apologies I've included some of the ships from there, just the ones relevant to the scenario, in case they can't be found. I encourage you to download the original and the British merchants pack as well if you've not already done so) , and the PINGUIN/KANDELFELS merchantman from Betasom as well I think. You may want to pick up the Mining Operations mods (E-Boat, etc.) from Sergebuto as well for the Seamine model. I generally find that I never use the mines anyway so if you don't plan on laying any 'eggs' don't bother. Scenario File and M-Boot as well as temporary Vorpostenboote model. http://rapidshare.de/files/18704251/MSB42.zip.html Relevant German merchants from Turnerg's pack (Turnerg if you want me to delete this just let me know - though if possible could you post a link to the German merchant pack so I can replace it with that.) http://rapidshare.de/files/18704340/...sMB42.zip.html Here is the model MINENSUCHBOOT (Escort Minesweeper) alone with the Seamine data files just to make it work. http://rapidshare.de/files/18704371/...boote.zip.html The only thing I really found problematic were the NON performance of the radio messages. If anyone could help me sort those out I'd appreciate it. In my rush I completely forgot to upload my pics but rest assured that these are really good ships. Mountbatten |
Thank you, that sounds very interesting. :D
I haven't played DC for a year - since that time my modded program chrashes down to desktop for some unknown reason. But this interesting scn should be enough motivation for a new DC installation on my elderly PC ... |

http://canarb.altervista.org/map.htm The Vosper model should be in revision, and therefore currently not available. You can also find references in the site: http://www.maricosom.net/sito Times three of the afternoon. Because of motives that are me unknown, the link dosen't work directly. It is necessary to clik on the button "canarb site" from the site: http://www.maricosom.net and from that point, to enter the menu of download. I apologize me for the inaccurancy. |
Thanks for the links!
I'm afraid the old thread about Sh2 & DC downloadas got lost in the forums change  Someone I can't remember had taken over from Drebbel the role of preserving it...if he has a back up I can make it sticky again.:) |
The author Canarb, promise to put again online the model Vosper, within Monday on his forum, suitable in the preceding post.
;) http://canarb.altervista.org/mod/units/vosper_v06.zip (saves object with name) |
I have a copy of the Vosper on my HD. If it does not appear via Canarb, let me know and I'll put it on rapidshare for you.

Thanks to all!
You guys ROCK! Thanks for providing the links to the 'missing ships'. Hope that you guys enjoy the scenario.
Best wishes, Mountbatten |
