My favorite mission is:

What mission floats your boat the most?

For me I love the challenge of a good covert land strike. Sneak into position, verify your target waypoints and then ..... Whoom! your missiles are off, out of nowhere to the enemy, speeding toward their unwaring stations/ports/camps to boom them to bits... in the meantime your either silently slipping back into the darkness or hauling butt to clear datum before the wrath of retribution falls on your position :yep: Nothing quite like it. Puts a kick into littoral warfare :)

SAG/CVBG attacks are kindof fun somtimes, but feel kindof old imho after a while, just plant yourself in front of the thundering heard and let them drive right into your trap... problem is that their never really seems to be that much retribution coded into the behavior of the escorts, they run from your torps, but never really prosecute a counter detection and attack in some of the mission setups.... of course the same can be said for the cover strike missions... :-?

Those underice SSBN hunts are fun and pure sub vs sub mayhem, but so straightforward its not much to strategize about... find them, kill them... wal-la.

The recon missions are pretty annoying imho, because there are always 2-3 ASW frigates blaring away active sonars right at the spot your trying to get too and you can't do anything about it, whoever thought that that was a fun mission is sadistic :-? , especially when its tagged with a time limit :hulk: and/or the active sonar frigs are spawned right on top of you 5nm from your port in the mission scripts. :damn:

ANY mission objective that requires thought process, LUAMI 3.02 compatible and forces me (directly or indirectly) to push the limits of my platform and beyond to do what is necessary to complete the mission...

and MULTIPLAY at that.. as in mission objective..

may as well add multistation into the mix.. but i think it would be more enjoyable with more ppl involved.. instead of a couple working half the stations here and there..

I know there are more like myself that see dw for all the potential it has and not just some point-click-shoot, run of the mil naval sim

my personal favoriate: all 25 of them : :P

Did you mean by ''missions'' - SP scenarios ?

Missions generaly would include MP Sub v Sub scenarios and would come under your 'catch-all' -
''Something else I'm forgetting'' That gets my ghost vote ! ;) Particularly as its still very popular with MPs

But for most players, I suspect, a preference for a varied and mixed diet which this type of poll cannot properly reflect.

I prefer long track and trail cold war style mission's, but i like the hunting of other SSBN's and SSN's under ice, thats my bread and butter.

I like to think of the old MP sub vs sub or FFG vs sub as a SSN/SSK barrier mission... where each is looking to sink the other. So I'm not looking at MP as a specific mission type in itself, but missions that fall into the categories above also.

Even if someone likes all missions, "all of the above" is too easy, someone has to have a favorite mission type.

Same here, SSN vs SSN, or SSBN, depends on what's in the area...no firing of weapons...just slip in behind them and play shadow.

My favorite missions is to infiltrate/extract spec ops.Especially when there is a short time window and alot civil and military traffic in the area.
