Ok party poker is world renown, it sponsors the biggest world poker champion ship event called WPT or world poker tour.
Big named players have come from party poker to win titles at WPT people such as Antonio Esfandiari (The magician) and T.J Cloutier (T.J). European champions such as Gus Hansen and Dave (Devil Fish) Ulliot have all played on party poker. So far at any given time there is over 4 million players on four or more types of poker playing, there is in the games i play atleast 10 people on the table and theres hundreds of tables. Some times theres a wait for a big big table, ive seen ques and been in them with over 300 people waiting. Currently ive had a bad week ive lost over 40k in play chips but it comes and goes, ive lost bigger hands. You will find on the no limit tables pots can go into the millions. 99% of the players are excellent comrades to play with i have alot of friends there old and young male and female, all at diffrent levels, but by far no limit is the best. In texas holdem there are good hands and bad hands, knowing when to call check rais or fold is critical, cause some one can wipe your a$$ clean, you learn fast from the pro's and even as you hit pro you still learn. Im no pro ive played now for nearly 2 years and im learning every day, you dont have to play with real money but you do ahve a choice and you can go from one to other. Poker hands go like so: You recieve 2 cards there the "hole cards" You bet / call / fold depending on what you think The comes 3 more cards called the flop this is a critical part of the game make a good hand here and your good to win. You bet / call / fold depending on what you think The the 4th card comes down called the Turn again a good hand here helps alot You bet / call / fold depending on what you think 5th and final card is called the river this is where you can seriously be up the creek without the paddel, its where most palyers drown, if you got luck and you hold out this far you must have a good hand You bet / call / fold depending on what you think then you show or "muck" your hand depending on if you loose or win, then collect winnings if you got any. Hand strength goes like this from lowest to highest. No pair but highest card can win which is A the highest Pair where two cards the same make a small hand (ie 2D 2C) Two pair not strong but can win most common hand (2D 2C + JD JH) Three of a kind a good hand but again not to strong (4H 4D 4C) Straight this is a good hand middle strength and noramly a winner it is and cards that goes up in order but not in suite (2D 3H 4C 5H 6S) Flush is all cards of same suite Full house is three of one two of other (8D 8C 8S + KD KC) Four of a kind rare but very strong (4D 4C 4S 4H) Straight flush all of same suite like the straight in every way except all the cards are of the same suite. Highest hand and one ive never seen and only come close too is Royal flush nothing can beet it (10 J Q K A all of same suite) So there you have it texas hold em. |
So is there anyone willing to take it up i realy realy want to play some poker with some of you here.

it overhyped imho. Poker has been here for centuries and now they are making it a big commercial cameo??

Can't we have backgammon, too? :88)

Happy 4,000!
And Parcheesi too...gotta play that one. |
Thank you. I love you all. I want to express my thanks to my parents, without whom I wouldn't be here, to Neal, without whom I also wouldn't be here, and to all those bandits, boogies, incomings, opponents, enemies, evil ones and hostiles without whom I also wouldn't be here. :-j

I would be curious to see players playing poker. But I doubt it could be run on this forum in a way that it makes sense for the players and is interesting for the bystanders.
Chess could be done like that. Checkers, too. Backgammon. Abalone - I would love to see good players doing Abalone, I like it, but I never got into the tactics side of it. |
well party poker allows observers so does full tilt, we could take screen shots :D
|
I play on http://www.ultimatebet.com/ . I've tried a lot of sites and that's the one I like best. I only play for Play Money, and I can kick behind at Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Crazy Pineapple :D
|
I must play you then.
