People cannot afford heath insurance but they can afford...

Ringtones!

Amazing, $500 million spent on 15 second sounds for your phone.

What's wrong with costing between $2.50 and $3.50 to download?
Course I'm one of this countries minorities that don't even own a cellphone and am not looking at buying one anytime soon.

Health insurance costs a wee bit more than ring tones...

I guess I'm at 500 posts now.

Personaly a phone is a phone i use it to call people they come with ringtones why be greedy and buy more?

JSLTIGER 04-13-06 03:35 PM

It just goes to show how far people are willing to go in the name of "self-expression." Half-a billion dollars on a fifteen second recording. :nope: :nope:

When people start mumbling about ringtones, you know they truly haven't anything better to do. :D

The idea of run over the people because of their wallet thickness, is not ethic :nope: :nope: :nope:

Consider this, in USA people dies because of their lack of money, but if somebody dares to mention that the goverment should cover the cost of the medical care for the population in a generalized manner..... My God!!!! a legion of .... :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: (you choose the appropiate word) will scream asking for the head of that socialist!!! communist!!!

About this, it is amazing realize that those people never consider the fortunes the goverment spend in fruitless proyects, a huge burocracy, etc and etc.

But you know, it is always easier to tighten the weak and defenseless ones.

If the taxes return to the people, it should be fair that the population's health to be a priority # 1.

The sentence: ...government of the people, by the people, for the people..... has any significance for those complainers?

:nope: :nope: :nope:

I believe the US is the only industrialized democracy that doesn't provide nationalized healthcare.

Yeah, but we have plenty of poor people with fancy ring tones!

Ducimus 04-13-06 11:05 PM

I have health care (saw the doctor today infact), and don't own a cellphone, so i coudlnt get ringtones even if i wanted them.

Soo naah naah!

CCIP 04-13-06 11:42 PM

I don't have a cellphone either.

If I did though, I'd pick myself a ringtone that would sound like ASDIC, or an airplane's RWR. I'm so trained on those sounds that anything resembling them makes me jolt (a truly Pavlovian simmer I am :yep: )

DeepSix 04-14-06 12:00 AM

I have a cell phone. It rings. Nothin' fancy, just rings. The other thing I think is silly is the camera phone/mp3 player. I mean, sometimes I wonder if anybody uses their phone to talk on. :P

Oh well. In America we do lots of sensible things. For instance, we don't improve the quality of mass transportation, we just make being trapped in the car more luxurious. So kick back, crank up that air conditioning, pop in a DVD, book dinner reservations with the satellite, and for heaven's sake, keep burnin' that oil!
