we have been detected sir?

This is confusing to me. How do my men know this? Is there a we have been spoted as well.

It depends on the weather, the condition of the seas, is it day or night, how close you are to the target. If you play with your noise meter on (sub that changes from green/yellow/red) once you have been red for several seconds, usually you have been spotted. If the watch crew is croached then you have been spotted. (If your surfaced). Also you can be spotted if you keep your periscope up too long and your close enough to a ship.

Hope that helps.

Ubisoft did that for "play balance". It's a game and they cannot re-create every last single thing while still making it playable with a Pentium IV processor. So they threw in the detection thing. They also make the minimum active sonar distance zero meters, which in real life was actually 200-300 meters.

It's there for play balance. I don't really like it, either.

LOL the best way I have found to fix this issue is to simply edit the en_menu file to "We may have been detected" because I play the game with German speech and English subtitles.

Since I don't know much German... I can live with it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Options -> Sound -> voice: German (something like that :))
-> Apply Settings
