RUBINI.... wishing you a safe voyage

In my opinion, there is no more important role in modding, than the one Rubini has chosen and supported for so long.

Silent Hunter III players around the world owe much of the pleasure they get from the game to Rubini.

Without all of the life added to ports, harbor areas, and campaign files ... SH3 would truly be a dull world to play in.

Rubini has served this community better than most of us and has done so cheerfully, without complaint. In many many ways, Rubini's true personality has shown itself time and time again. This man has been part of the solution to many things.

Just to take this a bit further, in real life Rubini has spent many years in the medical profession easing the suffering of others.

I've had the pleasure that few have had, working with Rubini closely while building the Grey Wolves campaign. His patience was seemingly boundless.

I feel entirely fortunate that I've had the opportunity to get to know this man... and call him my friend.

So ladies and gentlemen I stand at attention and raise my coffee cup in a toast... and invite all who feel the same to sign this thread...

Rubini,

Wherever the sails may take you...

May the sun always shine on your face and the wind be at your back.

May you and your family live long, safe, and happy lives.

... and know that any time you wish, you will always find a warm welcome in this port of call.

PROST!!! SINK THEM ALL!!!

with deep gratitude we salute you,

SALUTE!!!

I've already said it in the modding forum, and I'll say it again -

GREAT WORK!

***

Ironically, I must have to admit that today will probably the first time I've ever used HT - I've always been so busy with the game's ins and outs, and testing for RUb/NYGM/WaW that I never really got to really check out this great mod

Salute!

Harbour Traffic forever!

Catfish 04-10-06 02:12 AM

Hello,
when Rubini started with the harbour traffic mod back then this has been developed into one of the main immersion factors in the game  . After all this work and devotion i am sorry to hear Rubini turns away from it, but he sure did so much already, and deserves all our best wishes and thanks !
A toast to Rubini,
thanks and greetings,
Catfish

I've only been here a month and Rubini has always been helpful with questions answered.

I'll be sad to see him go.

Peace, and thanks for the great works!

Sturm 04-10-06 03:11 AM

Thank you.

I have been using your mods since the first HT came out and still using.

Sounds as if Rubbini is going somewhere???
All the best mate and hope you come back when there is time.
Thanks for the mods, esp the quickly turned round GW/NYGM unified.

Laughing Swordfish 04-10-06 07:23 AM

I echo everything Kapt Lehmann has said.

This is a fantastic forum, and only made possible by the likes of you guys, and people of the calibre of Rubini.

It is sad to see Rubini step away from the modding scene. I remember using the first HT he created. I think it was only one file or something. Boy has it grown since then! Even if you do step away from modding, I do hope you will pop in every so often. Good luck in whatever you do!

Skubber 04-10-06 08:39 AM

I remember installing the first HT mod – and suddenly I felt I was no longer alone at sea. Rubini's mods are among those that have made SHIII go from being a good, but flawed game, to one of my absolute all time favorites.

You will be missed Rubini. Come back anytime! :sunny:

Rubini

As a fellow member of the medical profession (Pediatrican) I have to say all the patients who come in contact with you are blessed. Your attention to detail, imagination, and dedication are wonderful to behold.

When I had had a problem with my setup, you were most helpful and prompt in your support.

I hope you will return often to the forum and give your expertise to us swabies.

SHIV is coming and I hope you will help in the moddeling of it.
