Soon To Be Released - Chatham Troop Transport

Here is a troop transport I am hoping to release soon. I just have to figure out how to UV map (which is going to take some time because I can't figure it out although I have a program for it) and how to fix the wake. Here is the ID image and a screenshot.

As you might be able to see, the upper decks are using the same texture as the superstructure, which looks terrible and definitely has to be fixed. :-?

Great Work! :)
I´ll keep an eye on it.

Excellent. I would like to sink three of them in the next hour please.

Oh! the the upper decks that are_using_the_same_texture_as_the superstructure is a minute detail.

Please provide us a link to beta version 0.999. :-j

Sexy ship there sir!

I really wouldn't have noticed the texture problem, I want to sink it already!
You will release it now... :yep:

Here is a screenshot from overhead. Now the texture problems are more glaring - I don't think a WWII-era liner would have had this many skylights.

But if everyone would still like to have a new ship tonight, I can make a Beta release. Except for one piece of superstructure that needs to be fixed to cover a texture hole, and the slightly-too-far-forward wake, the ship is ready. Even the zones should be correct.

First Class work there!
I am impressed!

I have now done a test on the Chatham - unlike the three small freighters which I tested earlier, the damage model works fine.

I would post some shots, but now I can't get Image Shack to work. :-? I get an error saying that the connection was reset.

EDIT: OK, now it's working.

I will be back tomorrow morning to see about a Beta release, if anyone is still interested after seeing those texture issues. :yep:

Boris 04-08-06 11:11 PM

Yeah... please release a beta.
If people are playing this game without cheating too much, they shouldn't be seeing the ship from above anyway.

Nice shots. Ocean liner sinkings always seem very dramatic, compared to other ships'. Except for maybe loaded tankers... :hmm:

Maybe the Red Cross would like another Hospital Ship? I made the skin by coloring parts of stock textures. The vents are too bright yellow though.

(BTW - Iambecomelife, didn't you add a hospital ship skin for the passenger liner to the MVP? You should clone the Passenger Liner and release it as another Hospital Ship. Now that we have an international Red Cross, it doesn't hurt to have several types.)
