No credit for sinking ships

I sink a ship but get no credit for it, why? Last night I sank 4 in a row & got no credit. This really frustrates me.

Was it your first patrol? If so, did you upgrade any components prior to starting the patrol?

If yes to both, then that's your problem - it's a well known undocumented SH3 feature. ;)

The "safety net" appears to be saving the patrol just prior to docking. When you exit, you'll still get no credit, but if you reload the patrol and dock again, it seems to reappear.

You know, I've read through that several times and still am not quite sure what you're saying. Could you put it in other words? I hope I'm not just being stupid.

I actually haven't finished either of the first patrols of my Flot 1 and 7 guys. I have sunk a number of ships, but don't see the message "enemy unit destroyed," even though I can quite clearly see that the ship has split in two and is going under, so I wonder if I'm getting credit or not.

What I am saying is, play your first patrol, but JUST BEFORE YOU FINISH (EXIT) IT, save your game. THEN FINISH. If you do not receive credit, RELOAD THE SAVE GAME and FINISH AGAIN. Apparently this works. Sorry, but I can't explain it any simpler.
