RAN Collins Class Documentary - Sky TV
 

I don't know if this has been mentioned on here before, I didn't see it on a scan of search results, apologies if it has.

Sky TV are showing a series of 6 documentaries on the RAN submarine HMAS Rankin, it's on Sky 3 (Freeview Channel 11) in the mornings at around 0700 and 1000.

I taped one this morning, doesn't seem too bad, a bit like the HMS Splendid one that was shown on the BBC a few years ago - it shows them doing work-up, fires-floods-famines etc. It also had mock attacks on HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Arunta, nice shots of the fire control systems and audio of the sonar.

Sky TV...? :P

Lesrae would it be possible for you to copy/burn thi series for the dishless?

I'll see what I can do, although you don't need to have sky, it's also on Freeview if you've got that. I tried to copy yesterday's episodes on my DVD-R, but it messed up. I'll try again today. The same happened with the submarine museum documentary I was going to record.

The main problem is converting it from DVD to a suitable media to view on a PC, I've looked all over for a free one but no joy - any ideas anyone?

If you want to get the retail version DVD released in Australia (well worth it, i love my copy :D ) You foreigners could get it from e-bay (i 've seen many on sale there) or probably from another online site with the help of everyones friend, google.

Or if you cant afford it/be bothered/ dont have a credit card then you could follow your route of piracy :arrgh!: :-j

Very good point, I'll just keep it for personal viewing, although I didn't realise there was a DVD available, so I'll probably get that. I've been meaning to get a copy of the HMS SPLENDID series the BBC did, I'll have a look for both :D

Ok for sky digital whats the 3 numbers that the channel is on ive hunted my entire digi box for it and i cant find it.
