Silent Hunter III direct-to-drive
Hi folks,
I've wanted to get SHIII for a long time, but I simply refuse to buy a game with Starforce on it. I don't want to start anything about Starforce but having had serious issues due to it once before I came to the conclusion that no game was worth the hassle. Anyway, I see that it is now available to buy direct-to-drive. Does anyone know if this version is compatable online with the regular CD version, and also, if the direct-to-drive version contains Starforce? It may seem a bit silly putting a CD-protection on a direct-to-drive game but even demos these days have CD protection routines in them even if there is no CD. |
D2D
D2D does have star farce.

You're better off not buying either version of SH III because of starforce and look for other naval games which don't risk breaking your hardware because of intrusive copy protection. |

Wait...there's a way to turn it into a CD version??? ::frowns:: And btw, what is Star Force besides a gizmo that obviously screws stuff up? Does anyone know of any other games that it is on?? ::looks at the box with his PC games in it worriedly::

I'm lucky. :) I've only got one of the games on that list. LOL

How unfortunate. I was going to ask if the "copy protection" issue has been resolved because I, too, have wanted to buy and play SH3 for a long time.

There is a solution out there guys.
