Mod needed for map ruler tool

Just putting the word out for people who didn't see my other posts concerning the ruler tool in the navigation map screen. When you drag the ruler tool, to say, 300m, that really means 250m or if you drag it to say, 300km, it really means 250km. Just wondering if it's at all possible to mod this to say, 100m increments, being that it's so hard to judge speed the present way.

would a draggable ruller could temporary fix that? Like the transparent bearing tool or something? Could be triangular 45,90 angle.

:shifty:

I think it would help but not cure the problem.

I think what might be better is good scales on the F5 map at the different zoom levels, on the bottom and right side of the screen.

This is an excellent idea, where you could have increments for 100m all the way zoomed in and then 1km, 10km, 100km, 1000km and so on. A draggable ruler tool like the nomograph tool I've used would be great too. Using the 3:15 method, we all know that .1km means 1knot, .5km means 5knots and 1.5km means 15knots...as long as the draggable ruler mod had good definition and was incremented to about 2.5km, or 25knots(which seems to be the max speed), I'd be happy with that.
