Interesting data on submarine created noise

:ping:
I was searching for some things about sound propagation is ocean when i stumbled upon this:
http://www.armscontrol.ru/subs/snf/snf03221.htm

and detection ranges:

Very interesting things about how submarine creates noise and why u can hear some frequencies and why not...Great thing to see if u want to understand how this (DW) work!

LWAMI crew...er...guys i know that u maybe already know that but u can check also

plz post here what do u think about this info..Is it "too much scientific" :damn: or u can really pull out something useful from this? :hmm:

Amizaur used Eugene Miasnikov's data on comparative submarine noise levels and sound vs speed as the basis for the sonar and platform noise level treatment in LWAMI. :)

Interestingly, it is a happy occurance that with the proper settings entered into the database, the Sim will give detection ranges based on conditions that are very similiar to his data, it would seem at first glance anyway.

I always thought the people at SCS knew what they were doing. :yep:  :know:

Yeh Miasnikovs stuff is over 10 years old but other interesting papers are:

The future of Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces: Discussion and Arguments.

Can Russian Strategic Submarines survive at Sea ? The Fundamental limits of Passive Acoustics.

Another intersesting paper is Gordon D Tyler, JR's :

The Emergence of Low-Frequency Active Acoustics as a Critical Antisubmarine Warfare Technology.

Really intereseting .. more please !

They are in Bellmann office, main desk third driver to the right. Watch out for the sneaky seals :rotfl:
