What is society coming to?
Yesterday I was driving down the road and saw a billboard that said "Laugh your A** off with (whoever) on 107.7"
The asterisks were actually used but it is still profanity. What message does this send kids? I look at my granddaughter and can't help but think she is going to grow up in a real dangerous and nasty world and that makes me very sad. |
I refer to my Jackass thread.
And to quote Claudius, Roman emperor: "Let all the poison come out of the mud" |
You are watching the decline of moral society. It is called - history repeating itself. Happened before the dark ages for example, etc., which is what allowed the Catholic church to grab power since governments failed to reign in the problems. The decline of the Roman empire was much the same as you see here. The real difference? It took the Romans 1000 years to do what we are doing in 250 years. You can't say our society doesn't move fast now can you?
:) -S PS. I heard the creator of the Nip Tuck TV show now wants to have a full rear entry sex scene on 'public' TV by next year. That is his whole big goal for the next year. Trust me when I say things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better - if they ever do get better! |
Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war.
Sorry, got inspired by Sixpack, not exactly Roman, but still. Did you filed a complaint yet? Least you can do, no? I'm sure you're not alone, there's at least 4 of us here! :rotfl: |
Proverbs 29
[18] Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. My pastor spoke on this very thing last Sun.....There is still Hope...Always...just gotta look for it, or make it. |

What’s the world coming too? Ass is a bad word? When I was a kid we knew and used words a lot worse than Ass.

After two decades with Howard Stern on the radio I'm surprised things aren't worse. I think part of the problem in our society is that adolescence has been extended well into most people's twenties if not longer. I see soo many males in particular nowdays who still have the mentality of overgrown high school kids or frat boys at the not so tender ages of 25-30.
