Changes in spoting range for enemy ship in My NYGM TONNAGE ?

Has the spoting range for merchant and war ships been changed in My NYGM TONNAGE MOD ? I think one merchant started zig zaging when i was about 7 km away. It was in good weather though and I showed my broad side.
