Coastal Tanker (NCOT) Beta Test Release 1.0

I finally get to release one of my ships, although it is not one of my best ones.

This ship still has several problems. The smoke was screwed up in the parent model, and thus I have not positioned it correctly yet. I also have not yet mastered the art of hex-editing, and thus have not made the ship multi-skin capable.

Also, I have encountered a strange problem with this ship. When I torpedo her, she suffers damage and/or sinks correctly, but deck gun shells are a different story. They do cause visual damage and blow off individual parts, but no amount of them will cause the ship to sink. :-? DerTeddyBar (who made the damage model  ) has tested the vessel and has not encountered this problem at all. So maybe it is something about my installation.

Since this is a Beta release, it is very important to me that you post feedback so that I will know what changes should be made and what aspects of the mad are successful. Thank you in advance.

Anyway, here is a download link.

I would also like to thank everybody who has helped me with all of these ships, including Iambecomelife, Sergbuto, DerTeddyBar, Dan, NoLine, and everyone else. Without help, I never would have been able to get as far as I did. :yep:

BTW - I will work on a better signature later, when I have time.

EDIT - It has just occurred to me that I used a template which had remnants of someone else's Recognition Manual mod. I don't remember who made it either. I apologize, and request that whoever owns the mod to post here, so that I can give them credit.

Future versions will not have those remnants of the mod, and will use templates from the stock image.

Good start. :)

I just realized one more thing that might cause a problem - in the installation instructions, I said to add NCOT=Coastal Tanker to the Englishnames file. You should actually add COT=Coastal Tanker to the file instead. This is my first release - sorry about this small error.

I could email you a copy if you like. Or if not, do you (or anyone else) know of a different service that I could use? I know there are others, but I can't think of one right now.

What was the problem with this ship?? The Funnel smokey??

AG124 03-25-06 09:14 AM

I was planning to make the ship capable of using multiple skins, but even after seeing complete hed editing instructions, I still cannot figure it out. I have fixed the smoke problem, but the fix means that the funnel can no longer be directly shot. :nope: I am also going to include two .zon files next time, one for NYGM and one with only 250 HPs.
