IuB + radio updates annoyance.

I use IuB, and no, I don't play at 100% realism, nor do I run the full patrol at 1x (I'd rather do other things than lock up my computer for the 130 hours to reach my patrol point). My question is thus: When running along at 64x, I'll receive a radio message about a possible target's location. Back when I was running unmodified, I'd notice that a neutral target would leave my TC alone, but finding a enemy update would drop me to 8x. Since I now need to investigate all targets (or, just the ones that would likely be enemy) I don't know where to start looking to make all radio updates drop me to 8x. It's kind of annoying to find a radio update I had missed before that I could of made it to if I had noticed it 2 hours earlier. Does anyone know where to start searching?

TIA

You can do this with SH3 Cdr ---> SH3 Options ----> Time Comperssion ----> When receive radio report ---> Max TC : 1x

Thanks for the advice, but I already looked there. When I do get an actual radio message (Radio Message Received!) I instantly go to 1xTC. However, the updated contacts are not _true_ radio messages, they are not in the message log.

Anyone have any other guesses? Is this something hardcoded into the game?

It seems to be. Sometimes it doesn't even drop when I get a Task Force report.

If you are talking about seeing opportunity contacts suddenly appear on the map and getting no radio message with no time decomp, I think that this occurs with the stock game and RuB also.

You can edit the range of these in the contacts.cfg.

Display Range To Opportunity Radio Contacts=300 ;[>0] kilometers
Display Range To Important Radio Contacts=1500 ;[>0] kilometers

If this is not what you are talking about, please disregard.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, but the problem isn't them displaying, it is the display of them not kicking Time Compression down to 8x.

I think the problem is that since IuB defines oppertunity contacts as Neutral/Unknown, the TC doesn't drop like it would as a Enemy oppertunity contact.

That's what I'm trying to change, and having no luck finding how to change.

Thank you for your lead anyways.
