VIIC/42

Is the VIIC/42 available in SH3? The wiki guide seems to be a bit conflicted on this point. Is it armored plated with a crazy deep crush depth like in real life?

cheers,
Oleif

Ahh the sub that never was. If any a sub was more needed to be removed from sh3 its the VII/42. Never got off the drawing board. Hell at least the Type XXI put to sea!!!!

Yes it is in the game, but I don't think its any different than the plane VIIc. :yep:

The only difference is it has 3 forward external torpedo stores. Not that, that matters, as you can make any type7 have that by tinkering with your basic.cfg file, so its really nothing special.

still no consensus i guess.

Hmmm...:hmm:
When is it available (date and flotilla)?

If I remember rignt, it has 300 m. crush depth, no?

In the game it has the same crush depth, like VIIC.

It became available at St. Nazerine in Feb 1944. I'm in the 7th flotilla in my current game.

First avilable in 44, although you can make adjust it to appear in 43.

All type7's use the same sub model. The only variation is in the basic.cfg file. , and how they're equiped. Performance wise, they're all identical because they all use the same sub model.

It does not make any difference whatsoever, but:

It fired a lot of training torpedoes. When the war ended, the only XXI surfaced very close to a DD it was following.
