How can I change the names of all Crew Members?
 

I'm interested in changing the names of my crewmembers but don't know how.

I would also love to be able to change the pictures (and names) of the officers.

Does anyone know how to do either?

I'd say the SH3 Commander mod is the best for this. However, you can do it manually in the career files.

Yeah - I'd say SH3 Commander would be the easiest - I just finished using it to rename all my crew to their real names from the crew list of the real u-boat with my boat's number on uboat.net, and also used it to assign their appropriate ranks and specializations as well (many were obvious but I did have to guess a little about some of those).

A long time ago I came up with a little mod to change the officers' pictures and replace them with the pictures of some real u-boat aces - you can find that mod and a related forum thread here (it has some explanations about how to do this and also change their names manually, in case you want to):

I even went back later and put in a picture of my Dad in his WWII US Navy uniform (for my personal installation, not in the mod) - he's now my watch officer, on loan to the U-bootwaffe from the USN as liaison officer. It's February 1941 now - I guess I'll have to transfer him off my boat at the end of the year once the Americans enter the war :D

Renaming the SHIII crew to match a particular Uboat is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. I'll install SH3 Commander and give it a try.
