Sicilian Wedding 6 Scenario
Guys,
I'm using the sub as the controlled player unit in the Sicilian Wedding 6 Scenario but cannot transit out of the harbour. The depth is too shallow and damages the sub even at doing different speeds from 2 kts to 7 kts or higher. Any ideas?? Maybe this scenario was ment for the surface ship only! |

No clue why your experience should be different :-? |

I also have had this problem repeatedly. Never have been able to finish the mission due to it. However i run mine on Multistation over my lan if that could make a difference.

I'm guessing the waveriding in the physics model has been increased since Bill designed the mission? :hmm:

There are for sure dramatic changes. Especially the ship stability is much lower now, on the surface too. And there are those strange pitch excursions during depth changes.

Just got back home from a business trip, and took a look at what's happening.
There is a good 10-feet of water under the keel, so the sub shouldn't be grounding. However, with the latest version's physics model, the sub begins pitching fore and aft soon after the mission starts. That's with sea state = 1 and no currents or winds! The result is that the bow (or stern) hits bottom and damage occurs. Here is a quick fix until Sonalysts re-works the physics model to make the subs more stable: In OPTIONS, Uncheck the box labled "Enable Wave Riding". This will prevent waves from affecting the sub's pitch and roll, thus allowing you to leave port in shallow water. Hope this works for you! :know: |
