Beerymod.com: INSANE going out of business sale!
Beerymod.com: INSANE going out of business sale!
Just to let you all know, my wife got laid off on Friday, so since I was a stay-at-home dad and due to a neck injury I'm somewhat physically disabled (the doctor says I shouldn't work at present) we will soon have no income coming into the house unless/until my wife gets another job. Anyway, what this means to you folks is that I'll have to (at least temporarily) disable my website which was costing us $40 per month. It's a bit of a bugger, but we have to do what we can to extend our finances as much as possible in the event that it takes my wife a while to find a job that pays what we need to keep the house running and us in food. Anyway, I'm going to keep the website up for a few more days at least, but if anyone needs to download anything from there, please make sure you get anything you need in the next few days. As usual anything you find to download there is COMPLETELY FREE so get it while it lasts! :) Sorry about the fact that I'm gonna have to do this, but I know too many people who have lost out big time due to the fact that they assumed they could weather a bad period like this while continuing with an unsustainable lifestyle. My brother in law was one of these folks and he went bankrupt and lost his house in part because he didn't cut back on certain luxuries. I think it's always best to treat such things as if the worst was going to happen so that if it does, there's a plan in place for it and you know you've done all you could. If the worst doesn't happen, it's no big loss. I'll be able to access to the internet indefinitely (unless things get really bad), as my wife needs internet access for the level of job she's looking for. So I'll be able to access the forum here and I'll keep my email address (beery1@comcast.net). If/when things turn around, I'll get my site back up. It will probably be under a different domain name though. I'll let folks here know if/when that happens. Ian (Beery) Cooper. |
Mate,
Hope that it all works out well for you. Good to see that you have your head on the right way too  |
Hello Beery,
hope your wife gets a job soon & you'll soon get well! Hope springs eternal! Regards Mr. Fleck |
Dam-when it rains, it pours, eh? Sorry to hear about your probs, that really sucks. But I think you're doing the right thing- expect nothing, prepare for everything is a smart man's way to do things.
Keep it tight. |
Bad luck indeed.
Undoubtedly you are right to batten down the hatches, it was very kind of you to host the RUb and other mods for so long. I wish you and your wife much better fortune for the future. Stiebler. |
I hope all will be fine soon!
|
Yeah hope ya wife finds a good job.
With your skills in modding have you ever tried getting your foot in the door with developers that pay people to create mods/maps, who work from home.... :hmm: |
Bad luck
Tough luck, I hope things turn around soon.
I can't believe the Ubisoft-SHIV team couldn't use your talent, insite, and judgement. irish1958 |
For as many people that are here, if only 40 of us gave $1 a month to a paypal account, we could carry the site for you Beery.
I think the Subsim community owes you at least that much. I would be happy to help even more. John, Neal...Can we set this up? C'mon guys, let's not just say 'oh well, good luck'. Let's give something back to the man. Beery, my email is MONOCORP@Comcast.net. I'm certain I could help you out with this. |
Neal, I believe, already offers all my mods, so I'm not sure keeping my site up is necessary. However, I haven't checked recently to make sure Subsim's versions of the stuff I offer are all completely up-to-date. Anyway, Neal always has my permission to host any of the mods that currently appear on my website, and I think JScones (the creator of the SH3 Commander and JSGME mods) is with me on that.
Once I'm on my feet again (or if I stay on my feet) then I'll get my site up, so nothing will be lost. Thanks, Monolith, for the idea of community contributions, but thanks to Neal and others who host my site's stuff I reckon it'll be fine to temporarily disband my site. I'll be submerged for a while, but have no fear - my trusty U-boat will resurface. Thanks for all the words of support from everyone! Don't worry, I always land on my feet (mostly because my 'prepare for the worst' strategy ensures that every result is 'as expected' or better). |
Beery, I hope all goes well for you and the family. I been there myself, for 3 years with no income, due to a back injury that left me permanently disabled. It's no fun and I can see exactly where you both are coming from. Don't dispair tho or let it eat at you, she do fine and you'll be back on your feet soon. We're all pulling for ya mate. Things do get better. ~S!~

Bad, bad, bad. :(
Take care of yerself, and you'll be back before you know it and wishin you weren't. :D all the best. Egan |
Well, seems like a good time to say Thank You! for all the cool mods you've created & shared for free.
Best of luck with the trying times ahead, this too shall pass they say. Be sure you all remember to keep laughing. Cheers |
Beery,
I'm saddened to hear of your troubles but it sounds like you are keeping your eye on the bubble. Keep her above crush depth and I look forward to your RTB. Let me add my thanks for your fine work and your generous attitude. You have certainly been instrumental in making this game much better than the original version. Best Regards, JBClark |
Best wishes Beery and once again thanks for all you've done for the community. Hope all works out for the best. I'm confident you'll be back up to speed in no time.
