New types of torpedoes.

Hi all. Ok im in dec 1941 patrol 20. What i want to know is when do new types of torpedoes become available? At the moment all ive got is the first 2 types that are available, which to be honest havent proved that reliable. Also what do ppl think of using magnetic pistols in their torps? All i have had is duds with magnetic , so i just use impact which are generally more reliable. I would like to hear your annswers.

Thanks for your reply :D

Well, have you red the sticky thread 'bout torpedoes? I assume not... :shifty:

And what do you mean by "magnetic duds"?
Bounced off the hull? Too steep angle and they're set too shallow.
Went under the ship without explosion? Set too deep.
Detonated prematurely? Don't use magnetics in the rough seas (especially in the early years). TII's are especially allergic to high waves ;)

thanks for your reply :D And no i didnt read the sticky on torps :(
What i mean by magnetic duds is that every time i set the torps to magnetic they usualy blow up before reaching the target, fail to reach the target, and sometimes bounce off the target( and before ppl ask, yes, im in a good firing position) To me in the present career im in, magnetics(so far) just dont seem to work.
